Tribune Media Services
Web Design Intern

Tribune Media Services seeks a web design intern who will perform publishing and design tasks related to the new online catalog, code html marketing emails and landing pages, assist in implementing SEO strategies, create mockups and samples, and participate in the production of the ebook publishing program. Application requirements include knowledge of HTML, CSS, Dreamweaver, and Photoshop, familiarity with web design and content management systems (WordPress, Drupal), and good interpersonal communication skills.

Citizens Utility Board
Communications Intern

The Citizen’s Utility Board has an opening for an intern who will write and edit press releases and newsletter articles, help with news conferences and community meetings, and assist with other duties related to CUB’s consumer advocacy mission. Internship applicants should have excellent written and verbal communication skills and a commitment to public interest work.

The Joint Commission
Editorial Summer Intern

The Joint Commission, an organization that accredits health care organizations, has an opening for a summer intern to support their publications process by editing copy, proofreading, writing abstracts of newsletters, creating digital content, and preparing manuscripts for production. Internship applicants should be undergraduates entering their junior or senior year with at least a B average and an interest in book/ newsletter/ web publishing.

Discovery Communications
Interactive Design Intern

Discovery Communications has an open position in its Campus Connect Internship program for an intern who will assist in design and production tasks and gain experience in web start-ups and pitches. Students applying should have a minimum 3.0 GPA, a strong understanding of interactive experiences and design principles, a basic understanding of HTML and web design, and a knowledge of Photoshop and Illustrator.

UrbanBound
Content and Copywriting Intern

UrbanBound is looking for an intern who will work collaboratively with team members to create content for guides, e-books, whitepapers as well as write press releases, blogs, websites, and emails. Students interested in applying should have strong writing skills and an interest in social media. They should also be able to research and write intelligently on unfamiliar topics and adapt the tone and voice of written materials for target audiences.

Ounce of Prevention Fund
Social Media Internship

The Ounce of Prevention Fund is seeking an intern who will help engage the Ounce community through digital channels by brainstorming creative social media campaigns, developing promotional plans, writing and editing blog posts, creating content for existing campaigns, and monitoring social media analytics. Applicants should be passionate, frequent users of social media with exceptional writing and research skills. Graphic design skills, video editing skills, and knowledge of child development a plus.

VSA Partners
Summer Writing Intern

VSA Partners is looking for a writing intern to assist with their consumer marketing. Interns would create copy for a wide range of media, write in a variety of “voices” to target different clients and projects, and participate in brainstorming sessions to create new business pitches. Students applying should be junior or senior undergraduates with knowledge of Adobe Photoshop, InDesign, and Illustrator.

Urban Gateways: Center for Arts Education
Marketing and Communications Intern

Urban Gateways, a nonprofit promoting arts education, is looking for an intern who will write for its website and social media channels, draft press releases, create multimedia documentation of Urban Gateways program sites, and perform other duties related to communications. Applicants should have knowledge of Microsoft Office and social media. They should also have a demonstrated interest in arts, arts education, youth services, public relations, communications, journalism, or arts management. Experience with online video editing, HTML, and photography a plus.
