Neighborhood Writing Alliance
Blog/Social Media Intern

The Neighborhood Writing Alliance is seeking an intern that will help produce original blog content, help maintain its blog and media outlets, build its online network and readership, develop online outreach campaigns, and use online platforms to promote the organization and its events. Interns should have an interest in nonprofit administration and community-based arts, social justice, and adult education. Interns will need to work in NWA’s Hyde Park office 1 – 2 days per week. Experience with social media outlets (Facebook, YouTube, Twitter, WordPress, etc.) in an organizational setting is a plus.

Summit Business Media
Editorial Intern

Summit Business Media is looking for an intern to assist with its magazine American Agent and Broker and its attending website. Interns will rewrite press releases, edit copy, write headlines, and produce pages. They will also check content for libel, make sure content conforms to APA style, and proofread. Internship applicants should have close attention to detail and excellent communication skills. Experience with copyediting a plus.

WTTW 11/98.7 WFMT
Website and Interactive Media Intern

The Website/Interactive Media Department of WTTW 11/98.7 WFMT has an opening for an intern who will help coordinate and upload text, image, media content, and rich media files, as well as assist with other projects that will support WTTW’s digital platforms. Students applying should have knowledge of HTML and Photoshop, an understanding of journalistic ethics, and a strong interest in online storytelling, television and radio production, and interactive presentation.

National Collegiate Scouting Association
Public Relations Internship

The National Collegiate Scouting Association (NCSA)  is looking for an undergraduate intern who will write daily press releases, track media coverage, contribute to marketing initiatives, and participate in social media projects. Applicants should be passionate about sports and able to submit two writing samples with their applications.

Greenleaf Advisors/Greenleaf Communities
Intern

Greenleaf Advisors/Greenleaf Communities, a nonprofit that does research and creates business strategies designed to reduce adverse impacts on the environment, is looking for interns who will assist in writing project proposals, newsletters, grant proposals, and informational articles on the environment. Interns will also make contributions to social media channels and the organization’s website. Applicants should be undergraduate seniors or graduate students, familiar with Microsoft office, and passionate about creating a healthy and sustainable world. Familiarity with Word press and social media a plus.

Communications Intern

The Illinois Humanities Council (IHC) has an opening for an intern who will assist with media relations and help promote a new Museum on Main Street exhibit. Internship responsibilities include helping to develop an exhibit-related blog, administering social media pages, and drafting press releases. Students applying should be familiar with IHC’s mission and have experience with Microsoft Office programs including Word and Excel. Experience with web applications or designing a blog a plus.

The Goltz Group is seeking  an intern to assist with their business-t0-consumer websites by participating in meetings to present alternative website layouts and designs, learning to work in the Magneto platform, and performing regular website updates.  Internship applicants should have basic knowledge of HTML, CSS, PPC, SEO, and Google Analytics.
