Lecturer for Junior Year Writing — University of Massachusetts Amherst — Amherst, MA
The College of Natural Sciences is searching for two full-time, nine month, non-tenure track Lecturer positions for the academic year 2014-2015. The Junior Year Writing (JYW) Lecturer reports to the Associate Dean for Academics and is responsible for teaching junior year writing for students in the Life Sciences. Appointment will begin September 1, 2014. Responsibilities include teaching multiple sections of JYW in the fall and spring semesters and collaborating with other JYW Lecturers and the UMass Writing Center. Candidates must have a Master’s degree in a relevant field, a successful teaching record at the college level, and the ability to interact with students and faculty from diverse academic programs.
English as a Second Language Director — Longwood University — Farmville, VA
Longwood University is a 4,000 student public, liberal-arts college in central Virginia. The Director will be responsible for all operational aspects of the Intensive English Language Program both within Longwood University and to all external constituencies. This position will supervise faculty, staff, and student programs and will teach classes as necessary. Ideal candidates will have wide-ranging experience in teaching and administrative duties.
Content Specialist — Imagination — Chicago, IL
Imagination is a custom content agency which works with Fortune 500 brands, associations and non-profit organizations to help create and strengthen relationships with their customers using quality, targeted content. The Content Specialist will assist with and produce content for social media and digital channels, including blog posts, memos, editorial calendars, and story idea files. This role will also provide editing support and will serve as a community moderator in social channels. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in social media and the digital editorial production process.
Editor/Writer — Northwestern University — Evanston, IL
The content specialist for the marketing department has broad-based responsibilities for conceptualizing, writing and editing clear and compelling content that reinforces the McCormick School brand to its target audiences. The content producer interacts regularly with members of the school’s administrative team, departmental and program directors, faculty, students and staff to partner in the development of content. This position also has responsibility for social media content development and strategy. Applicants should have experience in professional writing and superior skills in interviewing, integrating ideas, writing persuasively, and editing with emphasis.
