Interview transcription, data management, coding and analysis.
- Experience with empirical research—especially data management, coding and analysis;
- Interest in writing studies and writing pedagogy (highly desirable)
- Experience with NVivo (or other analytical software) is a plus—or willingness to learn
Using a collection of students’ rough drafts (with teacher comments) and final, revised drafts plus student interviews, this project seeks to contribute to research on responding to student writing. In particular, the project is designed to explore how students’ understand instructor comments and how this understanding correlates (or fails to correlate) to revisions that students actually produce.
Spring and Summer 2014, averaging 8 hours per week
