Grant Writer and Resource Development Specialist — Esperanza Health Centers — Chicago, IL

Under the direction of the Director of External Affairs the Grant Writer & Resource Support Specialist serves as Esperanza’s primary grant writer, supports implementation of funded programs, assists with fundraising and outreach events including securing sponsorships. This position requires strong writing, data analysis, program budgeting, project management skills, with an emphasis on planning and monitoring grant programs that respond to the unmet health care needs of our patients and their communities. Two to three years’ experience in resource development, fundraising, or health or social service administration preferred.

Media Arts Mentor — Street-Level Youth Media — Chicago, IL

The Media Arts Mentors work with youth to develop technical skills, explore new ideas, create digital media artwork, connect with community, and build honorable character. Artists may work in any number of digital arts mediums, including but not limited to: photography, graphic design, digital music making and audio recording, video-making, journalism, web design, and game design. Depending on an assignment, a contractor may work with youth anywhere from ages 8-22. This is an open call for current and upcoming roles which may vary in timeframes and in locations around Chicago.

The American Marketing Association has an exciting opportunity for a Staff Writer in its Publications department.  The ideal candidate will help drive member value through the creation of original, fresh and relevant content targeted at various member constituencies via print and Web media. The Staff Writer – Magazines & eNewsletters is responsible for reporting and writing features and departments for print and online channels, and for translating that content to the association’s other digital channels, as well as routine copy editing.

Teaching Writing

Instructor and Regional Campus Writing Center Director — University of Mississippi — Tupelo, MS

The Center for Writing and Rhetoric at the University of Mississippi invites applications for an Instructor of Composition and Rhetoric and Regional Campus Writing Center Director. This non-tenure track, 12-month position will carry a 2/2/2 teaching load, with a 2/2/2 course release to supervise the day to day operations of the Tupelo Regional Campus Writing Center as well as attend weekly meetings in Oxford. Anticipated start date is July 1, 2014.  The University’s Center for Writing and Rhetoric consolidates efforts to improve writing instruction at all levels. The Instructors will work in a collaborative environment to lead the Center in its mission to re-define writing instruction, pedagogy, and research at the University of Mississippi.
