Graduate students or advanced undergraduates are needed to work as interns at the Journal of Popular Romance Studies, and on a related book project, Romance Fiction and American Culture: New Essays. Interns will copyedit the summer 2014 issue of the journal: we need to make sure the essays are clear and fit the journal’s citation format, etc., but we don’t want to edit with too heavy a hand, since our British and Australian authors sometimes bristle that we’re imposing a US style on them. Interns will also help with preparing the manuscript of Romance Fiction and American Culture for submission to Ashgate Press, checking finished essays against the publisher’s guidelines to ensure that all citations and other details are correct.
If you are interested in applying for this opportunity, please send an introductory message (think of it as a cover letter or statement of interest), a resume, and a writing sample to Prof. Eric Selinger at eselinge[at]depaul.edu.
