Center for Advancing Domestic Peace, a not-for-profit partner abuse intervention program serving Chicago, seeks a part-time grant writer to assist the Center’s Co-Executive Directors in preparing letters of interest and proposals to foundations, corporations and individual donors who may be interested in funding the Center’s services to indigent individuals and its community outreach work. Assistance with developing and writing fundraising and program material as well as help in identifying foundations that may be interested in funding our program will be a part of the job requirements. Hours are flexible but depend to a large extent on submission deadlines. This is a part-time position for 5 – 8 hours per week but with the potential for more hours over time. Hourly compensation is commensurate with experience.

Located in the heart of downtown Chicago, their mission is to feed America’s hungry through a nationwide network of member food banks and engage our country in the fight to end hunger.  The Manager of Digital Engagement and Cultivation will work to devise and execute an email marketing strategy to engage and convert email subscribers and prospects to donors, and deliver projected net revenue for the organization. The will work with Manager, Digital Engagement – Acquisition, Cultivation Manager DM and Digital Content Manager to fuel engagement and fundraising content and social media.

English Instructor — Greater West Town Community Development Project — Chicago, IL

The West Town Academy (WTA) is a highly effective, state-recognized diploma-granting high school for students who have dropped out of Chicago Public Schools and wish to complete their secondary education. 75% of our students are African-American, and 25% are Latino. Students range in age from 17-21 years of age. Most WTA students are from low-income families, and approximately 15% are DCFS wards.  English Instructors develop lesson plans and provide academic instruction and individualized mentoring services to assigned students.

Associate Editor — The American Medical Association — Chicago, IL

The American Medical Association (AMA), the nation’s largest professional Association of physicians, has a dynamic opportunity for the right individual as an Associate Editor. In this role, you will assist in the development and editing of Virtual Mentor (VM), the AMA’s monthly online ethics journal, and take the lead in promoting engagement with VM content by creating a strong social media presence for the journal. You will:  Serve as the primary content and copy editor for a portion of VM articles each month; edit for accuracy and soundness of argument, readability, and accordance with editorial policy; copy edit for grammar and adherence to VM style and AMA reference style; manage VM social media presence; contribute content in the form of blog, LinkedIn, Twitter, etc. entries; coordinate with AMA social media group; track and report VM traffic statistics from Google Analytics; correspond with VM authors to resolve content questions; put manuscripts in proper format and templates for web production and proofs issue on test server before publication; and serve as liaison with VM outside contractor on technical and contract matters.
