If you would like to get more experience writing for publication, DePaul’s Office of Public Relations and Communications (OPRC) has an internship opportunity that could help you develop your portfolio. The internships available through the OPRC ask students to use their writing and storytelling skills to communicate effectively with audiences:
Under the guidance of an assigned OPRC supervisor, interns will assist with various projects and create and produce public affairs and internal communications as well as PR assignments that can become part of a personal, professional portfolio. Key experiences may include: researching, writing and editing stories, creating multimedia elements (photos, videos, graphics, presentations) and/or crafting communication for different channels as needed, including Newsline (DePaul’s online news publication for faculty and staff), news releases (for the general public), and executive communications (for the President). Interns serve as active members of the OPRC team and as valued contributors in public relations and communications meetings and projects.
